TYPE & RACE: One of the Norse Goddesses of fate, or Norns, Belldandy is the middle Norn who governs the present.

● ● APPEARANCE INFORMATION

HAIR: Belldandy has very light brown colored hair that is kept back in a ponytail at all times. While it appears her hair is longer, the tip of the ponytail stops at the small of Belldandy’s back and curls inwards on itself. Her hair is nicely kept, it seems to float on imaginary air at times, making her appear more ethereal and delicate looking. While her hair is mostly pulled back into her ponytail, the side portions of her hair are allowed to hang loose and fall over her shoulders where they stop at her chest. From the portion of her hair that meets at the top of her forehead are four small pieces of hair that spring outwards. These can be referred to as “sproings” as they sproing out from her head. The top two pieces of hair arch more than the bottom two pieces of hair.

EYES: Belldandy has steel blue eyes that appear to look soft and caring. They easily convey her emotions through them making it easy to tell just what she is thinking almost. While her eyes always stay a shade of blue, they seem to also change color from time to time, from a soft, steel blue to a deep royal blue and anywhere in-between.

NOTICEABLE TRAITS: Belldandy has an excellent physique, making her rather pretty. While she is not drop dead gorgeous in her appearance, her personality coupled with how she carries herself makes her extremely attractive to most males as well as some females. She instead centers on composure, tranquillity, and utter self-possession coupled with great loveliness. Belldandy has a gentle elegance that is hard to describe, for example when her long, dark blonde hair flies about in sweeps and whorls and accentuates her movements. She has exceptionally pale skin that seems to shine with an inward beauty that radiates throughout her as well as throughout her person. On her face she bears three small markings that detonate her position as a goddess. Two small triangles are located on the sides of her cheeks right underneath her eyes while a diamond shape is located in the middle of her forehead. These markings are a blue color and appear to be permanent, as they do not come off when wet or by smudging.

● ● PSYCHE INFORMATION

POSITIVE TRAITS,

• Belldandy is unflinchingly kind, patient, and warm to everyone, without exception. She appears to like everyone and rarely gets angry at anyone. Belldandy is exceptionally kind-hearted, even for a goddess. Belldandy, as a depiction of what they term "kirei", is comfortable "being loved and admired" and very much aware of her own beauty, yet this does not equate to vanity. Belldandy is very sweet and exceptionally kind-hearted, with very "old-fashioned" sensibilities and has useful domestic skills.
  
  
• She can easily sense other people's emotions and tries her best to be empathetic to all those around her, displaying a combination of "serene beauty and acceptance". As such, she rarely holds a grudge and is always willing to forgive anyone who does injury to her.
  
  
• Belldandy always looks on the bright side of life, so much so that she never seems to be unhappy around others at all. She is always seen with a smile on her face, no matter the situation (well, unless someone gets blasted away or something bad happens to someone she loves, then she might be a little pissed) and has a happy, singsong tone to her voice. She appreciates the small things in life and always seems to find joy in the oddest things.
  

NEGATIVE TRAITS,

• Belldandy has a tendency to be extremely innocent and naive, easily getting herself into troublesome situations because she simply trusts everyone. Even if she deems a situation harmful to herself, she often will still go along, hoping that the person who is with her might change their mind for the good.
  
  
• Oddly, Belldandy seems to have no idea about the inner workings of the world. Things confuse her constantly and she often can be found gazing at something in wonder as well as bewilderment.
  
  
• While she always uses her powers for good and to help people, Belldandy has no concept of people not understanding her power and being frightened of her. Thus, she tends to use her powers right out in the open, often causing troubles for people who would rather not have her use her powers. She also seems to rely on them for little things as well, but still at the most inopportune times.

STRENGTHS,

• She is known to over love people and to do whatever it takes to make them happy, even if it means making her unhappy. Belldandy is extremely loyal and possessive of certain people to the extent that she will undergo bodily harm to save them if need be. She isn’t above becoming angry (although her angry is actually very frightening in its own right) when something happens to someone that she loves, and she is known for doing whatever she can to make things right again. It has been said that she has a strong sense of duty as well as a strong work ethic.
  
  
• While she is very pretty, Belldandy seems to have the ability to make pretty much anyone like her and most males to love her naturally. People are drawn to her and often like to be around her. This is most likely due to her nurturing character and sweet disposition although she seems to be able to make even machines as well as animals love her.
  
  
• Belldandy is not to be taken lightly at all costs. She is highly skilled in her abilities and her power is so great that she is required to wear a special earring on her left ear which constantly seals the full brunt of her magical strength.
  
  
• Belldandy's capacities and talents are diverse, whether magical or worldly. Not only can she change the appearance of her clothing and levitate (and, by extension, fly), but she can also teleport through mirrors, speak to and understand animals, “see" people's emotions as auras, heal minor wounds by speeding metabolism, and "speak" to machines. Furthermore, she is a superb cook, and her singing skills are held to be the best in the heavens. She is also incapable of becoming inebriated on alcoholic drinks, but instead becomes so with soda. One sip is enough to send her in a drunken rampage although given her personality; "rampage" takes an entirely different, but no less destructive, meaning.
  

WEAKNESSES,

• Even though Belldandy tries her best to be as kind as possible, it is revealed that at times she can become very insecure and sad, especially when she is confronted with an implication that involves someone she loves in one way or another.
  
  
• Belldandy's possessiveness of certain people could make her an easy target for manipulation or even brainwashing, if the right buttons were pressed. As she will do anything to save someone, she can easily be used against herself or others if someone were to get the actual idea to try.
  
  
• When Belldandy uses up too much power by performing certain spells, she must recharge her powers back to normal levels. This is accomplished for her by sleeping. While this is an alternative to her losing her abilities (as it happens whether she wants it to or not) upon using up too much power, Belldandy will collapse and fall asleep. If she is not careful this could happen to her in the middle of a fight, making her completely helpless and at the mercy of others.
  

● ● PERSONAL GOODS

ITEMS,

• Left Earring – The earring located on Belldandy’s left ear acts as a seal for the full extent of Belldandy’s power. Because her power is so great, this “seal” limits Belldandy’s power greatly. She is not allowed to break this seal without first asking permission, and doing so can result in severe punishment. It has even been said that by doing so she might even suffer being put to death.
  

WEAPONS,

• Staff – Belldandy possesses a staff that she obtains when her seal is broken that limits her powers. This staff appears to be golden (or covered in gold) and is rather long. It is about 5 feet long from bottom to top yet is easily wielded by Belldandy with a grace that shows extreme precision and expertise. The staff is sharply pointed on the bottom, allowing her to possibly stab someone with it if she so desired, yet the top is rounded with a cross shape design in it. While this weapon can be used to attack and parry incoming attacks, it is most useful acting as a medium to help Belldandy cast higher leveled spells faster.
  
  
• While not actually considered a “weapon”, a fully-fledged goddess is teamed with an "angel". Belldandy's angel is called Holy Bell; her elemental attribute is wind in concordance with Belldandy. Holy Bell augments Belldandy's magical powers when called upon, and like all angels, she also reflects her master's current state. Holy Bell can also be called upon by Belldandy when not in a fight at all as well.
