● ● BASIC INFORMATION
NAME, Pallas Athena ALIAS, She goes strictly by Athena GENDER, Female ETHNICITY, Greek GRADE, Freshman TYPE & RACE, Goddess of Wisdom and War Strategy
● ● APPEARANCE INFORMATION
HAIR, Athena's hair is black, with jagged bangs. Her hair is kept short, for the most part, but it is longer in front of her ears. These longer strands are even on both sides and travel down to mid neck. EYES, Her eyes are piercing, and they are dark grey. They are old eyes, knowledgeable eyes. HEIGHT, 5'7" WEIGHT, 124 lb NOTICEABLE TRAITS, Athena gives off a very "boyish" look, and is very skinny for a girl of her height. However, she is not just skin and bones. Her extra weight comes from all of her lean muscles. She also has almost no breasts to speak of, though that fact does not bother her too much.
● ● PSYCHE INFORMATION
POSITIVE TRAITS,
- INTELLIGENT, As the Greek Goddess of wisdom and strategy, one would hope that Athena was intelligent. Indeed, she has many talents and skills and is one of the most knowledgeable people you could ever hope to meet.
- FAIR, Although she is quick to anger, Athena will always try and keep herself in check and give the other person a chance to explain away Athena's rage. She tends to be fair and just when mediating conflicts. When scorned, she deals out what onlookers often describe as "an appropriate punishment", whether it be physical or something a little more...crafty.
- CHASTE, Although sexual freedom is no longer necessarily frowned upon, Athena's chastity is often considered one of her positive traits, solely because it tends to keep her from romantic influences and helps her to keep thinking logically. Athena cannot afford to let her heart rule over her head, and so her chastity is what helps to keep that from occurring.
- CUNNING, Yes, her intelligence was already brought up as a positive trait. However, cunning is something that can be set at a level far apart from intelligence. In fact, it could possibly be set far above intelligence. One has to be intelligent to have cunning, but that does not necessarily translate the other way. Athena is strategic and, forgive the negative diction, manipulative. She will find loopholes and jump through them, always able to achieve her goals. Her cunning also helps keep her one step ahead of other people, and it also helps her mete out punishments to those who have offended her.
- PROUD, Athena knows who she is and can see her accomplishments, and for that, she feels successful and able to overcome any obstacle. Her pride contributes to both her mental and physical strength.
NEGATIVE TRAITS,
- PROUD, Yes, I know it's in both sections, but it truly belongs in both, because Athena's pride is a double-edged sword. She is weak to personal insults because of her pride in herself, and every insult thrown is a wound she must heal. In fact, it would be accurate to say that her pride makes her haughty, and, as such, she cannot stand to be ridiculed or insulted.
- COLD, Because of her refusal to indulge in acts of an intimate nature, Athena often stops herself from ever really developing deep or romantic feelings for someone. As such, she often comes off as cold and icy--someone who refuses to get close enough to actually know you. As such, she has few real friends, though she is kind to the ones she does have.
- UNFORGIVING, Although she may be fair when dealing out punishments to offenders, Athena can hold a grudge. She won't go out of her way to be rude, but she will show a cold shoulder to those who insulted her in the past. As such, she also (though she does not like to admit it) tends to prematurely judge those who befriend people she disapproves of.
- UNSUPPORTIVE (For the most part), Those who know the Greek history know that Athena has lended her support to many a hero, including Odysseus, Jason, and Heracles. So they may be asking, how is Athena unsupportive? Well, she only tends to help the heroes--those she considers cunning, crafty, and like her. All others she disregards and flat out refuses to assist if they ask for her help. She will give help when she sees fit, but that is not often. She will only help people who remind her of herself, and she would be proud to help, or when it would best benefit her to help someone.
- JEALOUS, It is considered a personal affront if you do or claim to be better at something than Athena is. Because of her pride, Athena tends to be rather narcissistic about her talents (her looks don't really matter too much to her) and believes that no one can match her skill or intelligence. When that is challenged, Athena is liable to lose her temper and use her powers and judgments in ways she would herself consider unjust and not fair.
- GREEDY/AMBITIOUS, Athena is, admittedly, very self-absorbed. She wants what she wants, and she will do what she can to get it. Greed is how it's put in a negative context, ambition in a positive. Her ambitious nature to be at the top can sometimes be the envy of other people, but at the same time, her greed to have whatever she wants can turn people away from her.
STRENGTHS,
- PHYSICAL, Athena can beat many men in physical fights, due to her lithe nature and cat like reflexes.
- SWORDPLAY, With the head of the Gorgon Medusa on her shield, holding her sword in her right (or left, for that matter) hand, Athena is a veritable force to be reckoned with if ever challenged to such a duel.
- STRATEGY, This is mainly the reason why she is so strong in the above two traits.
- CRAFT, Athena is skilled at working with her hands. She is a reknowned weaver and is also considered a fantastic carpenter.
- CREATIVITY, Not only can she surprise others by the intricacy of the crafts she makes and her unique ideas regarding them, but she often throws opponents for a loop by coming up with new and creative tactics each time she fights. Even those who study her fighting are bound for a surprise.
WEAKNESSES,
- TEMPER, Even Athena is sometimes embarrassed after she loses her temper and just goes too far.
- COMMITMENT, She's just bad at getting and staying close to people. She herself doesn't know (and wouldn't admit if she did) if she is simply afraid of getting hurt, or hurting someone else, or if she refuses to get too close to people because of the adverse effects she believes it can have on the mind.
- INSULTS, One way to earn Athena's stamp of hatred--insult her and claim that she is awful at something and that you can do better. Then go ahead and pray she doesn't turn you into a spider.
- RATIONALITY, Her obsession with being rational is what helps to alienate her from other people
- ZEUS, Maybe it's because she was born out of his head, maybe it's simply because she needs some one to control her, her father, Zeus, has always been the person/god that Athena defers to. Despite all her pride and self-satisfaction, she still asks his permission for certain things and will obey his orders.
● ● PERSONAL GOODS
ITEMS,
- HELMET, She doesn't always keep this on her person, mind you. But she does use it for battles. It's rather light, and c'mon, she burst out of Zeus's head with it--why wouldn't she keep it close?
- AEGIS, Her shield, her protector...Her weapon, considering the fact that it can turn people into stone. This small shield is decorated with the head of the gorgon Medusa.
- Other than that, she doesn't really keep many sentimental or constant possessions. What she has on her person tends to change with her mood. None of them are too important anyways.
WEAPONS,
- AEGIS (already described above)
- SWORD (no personal attachment, no special significance)
● ● BACKGROUND CHECK
HISTORY, Athena is the daughter of the God Zeus and Metis. Plagued by the fear that his child would kill him and succeed him, Zeus turned Metis into a fly and swallowed her, lest she have a child. However, she had already concieved, and a simple fly swallowing wasn't going to keep Athena at bay. After complaining of splitting headaches and pain, an axe was taken to Zeus's head (the only logical resolution, of course), and Athena soon sprang forth, fully formed, complete with armor and helmet.
Because her mother was swallowed, Athena never really had any loyalty to a motherly figure, and ended up more boy than girl. Her virginity is her own choosing, although Hephaestus did once try to rape her.
One person that actually had an emotional effect on her was Odysseus. In Odysseus Athena saw herself, and helped him in anyway she could. She later even joined in the Trojan war on the side of the Trojans to show her support for Odysseus. She won't tell if there was any romantic connection, but his death devastated her, even though it happened when he was very old, and she had known him for a very long time. Some claim she was present at the time, and that she cried. However, no one was there to witness, and it all might possibly be a lie. Whatever the case, Athena does not talk about Odysseus, giving people cold looks whenever the subject is mentioned.
As might be expected, Athena is now extremely annoyed at being demoted into purgatory and having her magic diminished. As such, her craft skill has slightly decreased, upsetting her greatly. She has yet to pass judgment on the staff individually, but feels slighted for being put down in purgatory and essentially demoted. It is her personal view that she does not deserve to be put through this. As such, her temper has become slightly less stable.

ABILITIES: As of now, I'd like to keep Athena without abilities. Because I have not decreased her fighting strength, I doubt she should have any magic skills as of right now.
